Raking Lady, Lab & Labyrinth Crossing
May 9th, 2009 8:30 PM

Bandana around head and a rake held by arm...that's our dedicated Raking Lady on the corner of El Cerrito and SFD. Spotless always.

Disappointed to see SunFlower Fabrics was moving on...interested to see who might be next.  We once entertained moving our offices near there bur the location wasn't what we were looking for...I feel bad i never had a chance to walk in.

Crossed SFD passing Bank, found myself and my breath after going up Barber to Prospect. No stranger to Prospect, we'd lived on a street with the same name in San Francisco and Nevada City,,,,perhaps this was a sign and we'll find a new home on Prospect in San Anselmo.  Off Prospect, on Avenue de la Norte, lab crossing is public knowledge although I think they must be in hiding as none of them graced my presence:(.

Down Winship I headed on to Bolinas with the Seminary in my mind.  Beautiful and serene in there...I ran by the Labyrinths but one day really want to be in then.  Learned about the Festival of Fun today with rides, face painting the like...

No more..tired day and I think tomorrow might just be my day

United Market Stomping Ground
May 30th, 2009 8:25 PM

My husband thinks I'm crazy but sometimes I'll go to a couple different markets when I'm out and about.  Often because one has fresher produce, one has never ending bags of monster peanuts and the third carries the best assortment of Virgil drinks!  But, United Markets on Red Hill in San Anselmo really takes the cake.

So I started my run there knowing I could do some quick shopping after the fact.  Luckily Hilldale isn't much of a hill because heading up Sequoia made me feel like I was climbing one of those enormous trees straight to the top.  Little side streets like Robert, Cottage & Bungalow came out of nowhere and you might miss them if you blinked.

Going downhill reaked a bit of havoc on my knees so it was telling that I ended up running by Acupuncture of Marin and realized the owner Jeff is the guy I met and laughed with the other day at the park.  Maybe I'll drag myself in there one of these days after all this running.....

Short Sales & Sun, Sun, Sun
May 26th, 2009 6:55 AM

Luckily I had my running shoes and clothes in my car...it had been a long day of touring property with my client...almost ready to give up, I convinced her to look at "just one more".  Sometimes we do save the best for last and she fell in love.  With details of the offer ironed out, I took to the streets around what hopefully will become her new home.

La Brea, Estancia, Adrian, Vendola and on to some of the president streets (Roosevelt, etc.).  Finally made it to the path behind Palmera and soaked in the air, sun and open space...enough to give my mind time to stew on short sales.  Seems like they are the story of my life right now.

Apropos that in Sundays Chronicle, Kathleen Pender wrote an article on simplifying the short sale process.  Hallelujah!  The Treasury Dept. is working to create a process for short sales and will pay bonuses to certain borrowers, loan services and second-lein holders to do them.

Did you realize, only 30 -35% of short sale offers get approved and of those that are approved, about 60% fall apart before closing. So basically, anything would help!  Luckily, my runs, have kept me sane through the many I'm involved in at any given time.

Want, to learn more about short sales or the process?  Give me a call at 415-209-4750 or shoot me an email to kira@tamrealty.com.

LAZZZ BOY
May 20th, 2009 7:27 PM

The Corte Madera LA-Z-BOY location caught my eye today.  Probably because it conjured up childhood memories of watching my dad take a snooze and take it easy.  Plain tired when I pulled into the parking lot, I could really have used some shut eye myself.

But, I mustered up the energy to put one foot in front of the other, and began my run at the king of recliners.  Heading down Paradise to San Clemente, the breeze off the water hit me just so. The cul de sacs in MeadowCreek had me almost running in circles and the family friendliness of the whole area was imprinted in my mind. Playgrounds and strollers abound I crossed over to Mariner Cove and couldn't help think of my college roommate that lived on Echo.

I weaved in and out and all around before I headed back down Paradise and passed Aegis Senior Living that was located almost too close to comfort to Harley Davidson.  Or perhaps it was planned that way...next time in that hood I want to see some harleys out in front of Aegis picking up some of the residents!

LA-Z-BOY was calling and at that moment, I knew that some day my husband and I might just call one of those big ones with the puffy arms and probably built in massagers home.

A Bit Slow On The Uptake
May 17th, 2009 7:00 AM

5:15 is just too dang early...but, I was committed to get a run in before the day got busy and out of control.  A somewhat eerie peace and quiet ensues at that wee hour -- especially when electronics don't work and there was no music to distract me.

Running the halls of Drake Highschool was an experience...the pounding of my feet was almost deafening.  Then as the sun peaked it's way over the horizon, I found myself climbing Scenic.  At the bend, I saw the house on the market with all the steps.  A workout just to get there, but once inside it's really beautiful!

Figuring I'd conquer the other half of Scenic later, I made my way down over to Redwood near the house we remodeled and sold last year.  For all the times I drove up that street, I never really took notice of the small little street to the side - Olive. Perhaps it was better that way because a relatively fierce dog came bounding down as I meandered up the little street.  Needless to say, I didn't quite make it to the end!

Red Hill - Dogs, Dogs, Dogs
May 16th, 2009 10:18 PM
Started my run the other day in front of Robin's Nest...the preschool my 2.5 year old can't wait to get to 3 days a week.  Michelle, the amazing director, joined me for the first time.  Love running with new people...before you know it amongst the chatting..the run is over!  This time we ended smack dab in the middle of the new Red Hill Dog Park. If I was a pooch, I'd definitely be in doggie heaven at that place.

Frankly, I Should Have Known Better
May 8th, 2009 8:45 PM

With two new stroller Bob wheels and two excited little ones strapped in and rearing to go, I decided to break the thing in with a neighborhood run.  Our steep driveway gave definition to my arms as I held on with dear life and tried to manuever down without losing Coda and Mina in the process.

Successful, I breathed a sigh of relief and started the loop on El Cerrito making the mistake of heading down Alderney to San Francisco.  A stones throw from the entrance to Millennium Park, my girls went bananas.  I tried to get in the groove and tune them out while I ran and hit some of the streets named after cities or towns (Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, Monterey).

A bright idea (so I thought at the time) would be to wind our way through the park and head across SFD.  WRONG.  The girls won and were unstrapped, and let lose in the park where the run abruptly ended.

Main Ct., Husky & Barking Dogs, UP Forest...
May 6th, 2009 10:04 PM

Who would have guessed that Medway Rd. in San Anselmo is home not only to a bright red mailbox but a flowered one as well?  A lot of color for a little street.

And, what honestly is so main about Main Court in Fairfax?  It really is a simple, tiny little street you'd miss if you didn't literally run right upon it.

Too bad Beyonce's pipes weren't the only thing I heard as I ran by the large, barking dogs on Florence Avenue in San Anselmo.  Couldn't see them behind the fence, but not sure I would have wanted to.

As I made my way back to Oak Knoll and the ongoing new construction there, I ran behind the Tack & Feed and caught sight of about 5 huskies catching some zzzz's.

Did I mention running up Forest (well at least part way)?  Probably not, because I care not to remember it!

Lucky Mill Valley Chevron...
May 3rd, 2009 7:57 AM
Stop in to the Chevron Food Mart in Mill Valley on Friday, grab a snack, buy 10 quick pick tickets and return the next day $75 million dollars richer.  Not a bad rainy weekend for the local deputy sheriff that won the lotto or the owner of the station that will receive a $375,000 ticket for selling the winning ticket.

B Streets, Bake Sale & Brokers Tour
May 1st, 2009 7:23 AM

This morning I took on some B Streets in San Anselmo.  Broadmoor, Brookside, Brookmont, Brookmead and onto Butterfield. My second attempt to run Brokers Tour (the day all us realtor types get to see what's on the market) was fruitful.  I popped in a home on Butterfield Ln...4bdrm/3bth home nestled on a small cul de sac with all the room you need for horses and such.  Next door more property ready for horses and complete with a pool is on the market.  Some agents I didn't know thought I might be a buyer ready for the taking.

Sidestreets abound, I eventually made it to the end of Butterfield and to San Domenico school and the turnaround...

Who knew there is a tag & bake sale at the clubhouse in Sleepy Hollow on May 3 and there was another garage/bake sale at a corner house on Butterfield last weekend to benefit the Leukemia Society....someone has forgot to take the signs down!
